Army Letter from Zeb (-:

Dear Ma and Pa,

Am well. Hope you are.
Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer
the Army beats working for Ol’ Man Minch, a mile.
Tell them to join up quick before
maybe all the places are filled.

I was restless at first because you got
to stay in bed till nearly 6 a.m.(!)
but am getting so I like to sleep late.
Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast
is smooth your cot and shine some things
— no hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix,
wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing.
You got to shave, but it’s not bad in warm water.

Breakfast is strong on the trimming
like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc…,
but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, beef, ham,
steak, fried eggplant, pie, and regular food.
But tell Walt and Elmer you can always sit between
two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours
holds you till noon, when you get fed.

It’s no wonder these city boys can’t walk much.
We go on “route marches”, which the Sgt. says are long walks
to harden us. If he thinks so, it’s not my place to tell him different.
A “route march” is about as far as to our mailbox at home.
Then the city guys all get sore feet and we ride back in trucks.
The country is nice but awful flat.

The Sgt. is like a schoolteacher. He nags some.
The Capt. is like the school board.
Cols. and Gens. just ride around and frown.
They don’t bother you none.

This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing.
I keep getting medals for shooting. I don’t know why.
The bull’s-eye is near as big as a chipmunk
and don’t move. And it ain’t shooting at you,
like the Higsett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there
all comfortable and hit it. You don’t even load your own cartridges.
They come in boxes.

Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry
and join before other fellows get onto this setup
and come stampeding in.

Your loving son,
Zeb

P.S. Speaking of shooting, enclosed is $200 for the barn roof
and ma’s teeth. The city boys shoot craps but not very good. - Z

How does a home schooler ...

Q: How does a home schooler change a light bulb?

A: First, mom checks three books on electricity out of the library, then the kids make models of light bulbs, read a biography of Thomas Edison and do a skit based on his life.
Next, everyone studies the history of lighting methods, wrapping up with dipping their own candles.
Next, everyone takes a trip to the store where they compare types of light bulbs as well as prices and figure out how much change they'll get if they buy two bulbs for $1.99 and pay with a five dollar bill.
On the way home, a discussion develops over the history of money and also Abraham Lincoln, as his picture is on the five dollar bill.
Finally, after building a homemade ladder out of branches dragged from the woods, the light bulb is installed. And there is light.
Hats off to home schoolers!

What Seeds Will We Plant?

March 16, 1997
Sermon notes
By: Cindy

Seeds of Blessing - Reaps Harvest of Rejoicing
Deposit or Withdrawals

1. When planting seeds -

separate the good ones are from the bad.
The person wanting to grow a healthy garden
studies and chooses wisely the seeds going into the ground.
How much more should we weight what we put into our minds
for the outcome of our actions?

Galatians 6:7-10
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
For he who sows to his flesh
will of the flesh reap corruption,
but he who sows to the Spirit
will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap
if we do not lose heart.
Therefore, as we have opportunity,
let us do good to all,
especially to those who are
of the household of faith. (NKJV)

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6
He who observes the wind will not sow,
And he who regards the clouds will not reap.
As you do not know what is the way of the wind,
Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child,
So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.
In the morning sow your seed,
And in the evening do not withhold your hand;
For you do not know which will prosper,
Either this or that,
Or whether both alike will be good. (NKJV)

2. We can sow seeds of kindness
even when the winds of adversity seem to blow against us.

(a) In Israel - I worked in a restaurant
with a girl named Shosh (nickname for Susan)
and her meanness toward my saying 'please'
and 'thank-you' drove me crazy
but I just continued being nice to her
and she soften in the end of her working with me.
(b) Training ourselves first and then training our children
or if we are new believers - learning while we train our children
in the Lord produces all kinds of good fruit.
Children learn best watching what we do and copying us.
Actions do speak louder then words.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9
"You shall love the LORD your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your strength.
And these words which I command you today shall be

in your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children,
and shall talk of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way,
when you lie down,
and when you rise up.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house
and on your gates." (NKJV)

There is not a place or a time without the Lord beside us.

Deuteronomy 11:18-20
"Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart

and in your soul,
and bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall teach them to your children,
speaking of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way,
when you lie down,
and when you rise up.
And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house
and on your gates, (NKJV)

Repeat, if we didn't get it the first time.
notice the references are different?

Psalm 78:4
We will not hide them from their children,
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
And His strength and His wonderful works

that He has done. (NKJV)

Psalm 78:5b -8
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments;
And may not be like their fathers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that did not set its heart aright,
And whose spirit was not faithful to God. (NKJV)

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it. (NKJV)

3. This age is everyone for himself.
But the Bible tells us to invest in the life of others.
Everyone needs each other. Grandparents, parents,
and children need to deposit blessings to one another.

(a) A deposit is something put down towards
something we want in the future.
1. a kind word
2. a kind deed
3. a deposit will reap a blessing,
like interest in a bank.
Letting the seed grow.
(b) A withdrawal is something that will hurt
1. a mean word
2. a mean deed
3. a withdrawal puts you in the red,
and makes everyone unhappy.
Pulling the plant before it is ripe.
(c) Investing in our children life

is a very honorable investment indeed.
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3(NKJV)
(d) Every so often we should take stock of the fruit

we are producing.

4. Women need each other in so any ways.
Planting words of encouragement.
This culture has separated women from each other.
Thus loneliness and comparison among themselves.

Titus 2:3 - 5
The older women likewise,
that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers,
not given to much wine, teachers of good things --
That they may teach the young women to be sober,
to love (like) their husbands,
to love (like) their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good,
obedient to their own husbands,
that the word of God be not blasphemed. (KJV)

Women used to do so many things together -wash clothes,
get together help to with the new born and more....

Mothers taught their daughter now to cook, sew,
take care of children and keep a house.

Now a lot of girl are left to learn these things on their own.
They don’t learn well on their own
a lot of them grow up confused and frustrated.
I have seen this being around a lot of womens groups
over the years if we could learn everything on our own
we wouldn’t need teachers and schools.

5. Marriage is in a constant need of many good
and positive deposits.

(a) Speak kindly, put a guard on your mouth, think first.
(b) treating each other like a prince or princess
(c) making your home a haven

1 Peter 3:7
Husbands, likewise,
dwell with them (your wife) with understanding,
giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel,
and as being heirs together of the grace of life,
that your prayers may not be hindered. (NKJV)

6. Children can’t raise themselves.
The world can be very hard on them,
with no regards of their feeling.

(a) We need to be there to encourage and bless.
(b) To pick the little bad seedlings that people
or ideas plant, before they take root.
1. When I was eighteen someone called me a heathen
because I wasn't doing what he wanted me to do
but my parents and cousin rooted it out
by speaking truth and telling me I wasn't a heathen.
(c) If childen have a relationship with the Lord
no matter how young they are, they are disciples.
(d) If they don’t know the Lord what a great blessing
to lead your child to Christ.
(e) And God is seeking godly seed

Ephesians 6:1-4
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord,

for this is right.
Honor your father and mother,
which is the first commandment with promise:
that it may be well with you

and you may live long on the earth."
And you, fathers,

do not provoke your children to wrath,
but bring them up in the training

and admonition of the Lord. "(NKJV)

Malachi 2:15a
But did He not make them one,

having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one?

He seeks godly offspring. (NKJV)

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,
and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart,
not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you,
that you, always having all sufficiency in all things,
may have an abundance for every good work.
Be someone who blesses continually with mouth and deeds.
(NKJV)

8. We need a renewing of our minds.
What do we sow in our mind?

Through our eyes and thoughts.

(a) Input - Output
(b) Deposits with interest - Withdrawal going bankrupt
(c) What kind of seed are we planting? -
What kind of fruit will we reap?

Philippians 4:4-8
Rejoice in the Lord always.
Again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men.
The Lord is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication,

with thanksgiving,
let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God,

which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts

and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are noble,
whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report,
if there is any virtue

and if there is anything praiseworthy --
meditate on these things. (NKJV)

Psalm 119:35-38
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way.
Establish Your word to Your servant,
Who is devoted to fearing You. (NKJV)

Psalm 128:1-2
A Song of Ascents.
Blessed is every one who fears the LORD,
Who walks in His ways.
When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. (NKJV)

9. May we be blessed eating the fruit

of the seeds we have planted.
And wait patiently, trusting the Lord of harvest

as it grows up.

Psalm 126:5-6
Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him. (NKJV)

Psalm 127:2
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep. (NKJV)

Hosea 10:12-13
Sow for yourselves righteousness;
Reap in mercy;
Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the LORD,
Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
You have plowed wickedness;
You have reaped iniquity.
You have eaten the fruit of lies,
Because you trusted in your own way,
In the multitude of your mighty men. (NKJV)

Proverbs 22:8-9
He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow,
And the rod of his anger will fail.
He who has a generous eye will be blessed,
For he gives of his bread to the poor. (NKJV)

Eleven Years Later

January 23, 2007

After reading this again many years later
it is amazing how true it still is.

I have seen many dear friend’s children (older kids) in accidences

- one isn’t suppose to live the night -
yet thought prayer he began high school after a few weeks.
His head had been opened up, stitches all the way across the top
and down the side. Today he is married.

Two nights later, while the first young man is still in the hospital

his mom calls in the early morning
to tell us about another young man 23 years olds,
married with a child on the way, has died in another car accident
and he wasn’t even hurt badly. They were both good friends of ours.

There are many more stories like this.

I have seen love ones protected from great harm

and healed in an instant.
And others go thorough injuries and slow healing.

Some people say, “God is healing”
and others say, “God doesn’t work that way.”
It has to be now or it isn’t healing.

I think from living overseas a few times that the western mind set

thinks everything needs to happen now.
Isn’t it interesting how we have all these modern conveniences
and yet we have less time for each other.
People today are more isolated and lonely.

I wonder can we slow down? If we don’t do it willing

and with propose –choosing to slow down.
Will we be made to slow down with poor health
and lost relationships. Today can we choose people over
– money made, toys played, and the solitude of my space.

Jesus our Messiah died for us. Death is not given for junk

but for the things we value. We are created in the image of GOD.
Nothing on this earth is of more value then the life of a human being.
We don’t stop with death, Jesus rose from the dead
and sits at the right hand of the Father.

Hebrews 10:

11-18 Every priest goes to work at the altar each day,
offers the same old sacrifices year in, year out,
and never makes a dent in the sin problem.

As a Priest, Christ made a single sacrifice for sins, and that was it!

Then He sat down right beside God (the Father)
and waited for His enemies to cave in.
It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person
to perfect some very imperfect people.
By that single offering, He did everything that needed to be done
for everyone who takes part in the purifying process.

The Holy Spirit confirms this:

This new plan I'm making with Israel
isn't going to be written on paper,
isn't going to be chiseled in stone;
This time "I'm writing out the plan in them,
carving it on the lining of their hearts."

He concludes,
I'll forever wipe the slate clean of their sins.
Once sins are taken care of for good,
there's no longer any need to offer sacrifices for them.

19-21 So, friends, we can now
—without hesitation—walk right up to God (our Father),
into "the Holy Place."
Jesus has cleared the way
by the blood of His sacrifice,
acting as our Priest before God (our Father).
The "curtain" into God's presence is His body.

22-25 So let's do it—full of belief,
confident that we're presentable inside and out.
Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going.
He always keeps His word.

Let's see how inventive we can be
in encouraging love and helping out,
not avoiding worshiping together as some do
but spurring each other on,
especially as we see the big Day approaching

I say, "Amen and amen" to this.

What Is The Reason For Trouble and Trails

Feb. 20, 1996
Women’s Fellowship
By: Cindy

What is the Reason for Trouble
and Trials?

Does anyone really enjoy testing and trial ?
In James 1:2-4 it says, “Count it all joy, my sisters
when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith
produces endurance (patience).
But let endurance have its perfect work,
that you might be mature (prefect)
and complete, lacking in nothing.

It says count it all joy, isn’t that interesting?
It’s the opposite from what we think it should be.
How can we get rid of and put to death the old man
(the old fleshly nature)
when now they call it the child within us?
Ephesians 4:21b-23 …, as truth is in Jesus:
that you put off, concerning your former conduct,
the old man, which grows corrupt according
to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

At the Feb. 3rd Mexico meeting there were three things
I heard that help me.

1. Jerry Tyler said, “People who rub us the wrong way
are knocking off our rough edges.”
As iron sharpens iron so a woman sharpens
the countenance of her friend. Proverbs 27:17

2. Then he said, “ If someone sins against you forgive her/him
and cover her/him, and if they irritate you forbear.”
Above all things having constant love for one another,
because love will cover a multitude of sins;
be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4: 8-9
In Luke 17:4 Jesus said, “And if he sins against you
seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns
to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.

3. Pastor Tom said, “Love isn’t love until it’s tested”
It is easy to love those who love you and that do it your way.
When it gets tested then it becomes real, true love.
Matthew 5:44-47 “But I say to you, love your enemies,
bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you,
and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven;
for He makes the sun rise on the evil and on the good,
and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?
Do not even the tax collectors do .the same?
And if you greet your brethren only,
what do you do more then others?
Do not even tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect,
just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

What is the reason or cause of trouble? It all starts with a capital I,
“I will.” The words of Lucifer, “I will…I will…I will.. I will…
I will be like the Most High. Isaiah 14:12-14. In the garden of Eden,
the serpent said, “You will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Genesis 3:5b They ate the fruit, disobeying the only thing God
told them not to do because He loved them
and it would only bring them death.
“I will”, the ultimate of selfishness and rebellion from which
every sin springs, and by which comes all kinds of trouble,
hurt, disappointment, rejection, and death, etc..

Corinthians 15:21-22 For since by man came death,
by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
For in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.

What is the reason for trials?
Trials reveal to us what is really inside us,
and it isn’t pretty, so that it can be done away with
and that which will remain is purified. We are purified
because we are more precious and valuable to God then things,
things we think are beautiful and of value.
For example: Gold tried by fire, diamonds created
under great pressure and than chipped at to bring out
its many beautiful facets, that make it glitter so,
or a vase formed on the potter’s wheel. These things pass away.
We are eternal.

1 John 4:9-10 In this the love of God was manifested toward us,
that God sent His only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through Him. In this is love,
not that we loved God, but that He loved us
and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Romans 8:28-29 And we know all things work together for good
to those who love God, to those who are called according
to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined
to be conformed to the image of His Son,
that he might be the first born among many brethren.

1 Corinthians 15:56-57 The sting of death is sin,
and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God,
who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 24-25 Now to Him who is able to keep you
from stumbling, and to present you faultless
before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty,
dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen

The New English -- A Proposal (A silly story)

The New English - - A Proposal

The New California Governor has just announced
an agreement whereby English will be the official language
of the state, rather than German which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations,
The Terminator's Government conceded that English spelling
had some room for improvement
and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would
become known as "Austro-English"
(or, if nobody will be offended, "Austrionics")..

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".
Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.
The hard "c" will be dropped in favor of the "k".
This should klear up konfusion,
and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year
when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with the "f".
This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling
kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated
changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal
of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag
is disgrasful and it should go away.

Why Are We Here? Where Are We Going?

August 13, 1997
Cindy N

Why are we here?
Where are we going?

1. God has formed us and none are an accident.

Psalm 139:13-18
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You. (NKJV)

Isaiah 43:7
7 Everyone who is called by My name,
Whom I have created for My glory;
I have formed him, yes, I have made him." (NKJV)

Isaiah 44:24
24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer,
And He who formed you from the womb:
"I am the LORD, who makes all things,
Who stretches out the heavens all alone,
Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself; (NKJV)

Isaiah 64:8
8 But now, O LORD,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand. (NKJV)

Jeremiah 1:5-8
5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
6 Then said I:
"Ah, Lord GOD!
Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth."
7 But the LORD said to me:
"Do not say, 'I am a youth,'
For you shall go to all to whom I send you,
And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces,
For I am with you to deliver you," says the LORD. (NKJV)

Romans 8:28-30
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (NKJV)

Romans 9:20-21
20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" 21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? (NKJV)

2. God is looking for godly seed and children are a blessing.

Malachi 2:15-16
15 But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one?
He seeks godly offspring.
Therefore take heed to your spirit,
And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.

16 "For the LORD God of Israel says
That He hates divorce,
For it covers one's garment with violence,"
Says the LORD of hosts.
"Therefore take heed to your spirit,
That you do not deal treacherously." (NKJV)

Psalm 127:3-128:4
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
1 Blessed is every one who fears the LORD,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the LORD. (NKJV)

Psalm 78:4-8
4 We will not hide them from their children,
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.
5 For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
6 That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
7 That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments;
8 And may not be like their fathers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that did not set its heart aright,
And whose spirit was not faithful to God. (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!
5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
7 "You shall teach them diligently to your children,
and shall talk of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way,
when you lie down, and when you rise up.
8 "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9 "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house
and on your gates. (NKJV)

Psalm 68:4-6
4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name YAH,
And rejoice before Him.
5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
6 God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land. (NKJV)

Proverbs 8:30-35
30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.
32 " Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
34 Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoever finds me finds life,
And obtains favor from the LORD; (NKJV)

3. We are like grass, a vapor, a seed.

Psalm 103:8-18
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.
17 But the mercy of the LORD
is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children's children,
18 To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them. (NKJV)

Isaiah 40:6-8
6 The voice said, "Cry out!"
And he said, "What shall I cry?"
"All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades,
Because the breath of the LORD blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever." (NKJV)

James 4:13-17
13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such
and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow.
For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time
and then vanishes away.
15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."
16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (NKJV)

1 Peter 1:24
24 because
"All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away, (NKJV)

4. Where are we going and how shall we appear?

1 Corinthians 15:38-49
38 But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.
44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. (NKJV)

Malachi 3:16-17
16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another,
And the LORD listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the LORD
And who meditate on His name.
17 "They shall be Mine," says the LORD of hosts,
"On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him." (NKJV)

Isaiah 25:8-9
8 He will swallow up death forever,
And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the LORD has spoken.
9 And it will be said in that day:
"Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the LORD;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation." (NKJV)

Revelation 7:16-17 16 "They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." (NKJV)

Isaiah 65:17-18
17 "
For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing,
And her people a joy. (NKJV)

Zephaniah 3:17
17 The LORD your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing." (NKJV)
